Enrolled in DINAIR Airbrush Makeup Workshop in North Hollywood
DINAIR Airbrush Makeup
I styled the hair on Trance singer, JES for this music video.
DINAR had an airbrush makeup team. They did tattoos, hair designs and the face makeup.
It lasted all day & into the night. Pretty flawless. Basic touchups. Mainly on the dancers since they were working it out so hard. I am really super excited to be able to learn this makeup technique. I will also have a Starter Airbrush Makeup Kit.
Here are a few screenshots of the airbrush work
.
Hair airbrushing
Tattoo Design and Hair Design
The Dance Crew
Face Design with Rhinestones.
So, even though I only styled the hair for the JES, music video shoot. By putting in extensions and colored braids and extensions. Also lots of curling, teasing and hairspray. It was no easy chore. But it was lots of fun! Love the combined outcome of the airbrush and my creative hair design.
It was pretty cool to see the airbrushing in action. Glad I have a chance to check it out.
I will be learning how to do something like this tomorrow I am sure the basics but eventually learning stencils etc. will be fun! I am excited! :)

Don't Go in the Bedroom. Horror Movie Trailer.
If you've never had a nightmare about cannibalism, now you will.
I had a blast working on this horror movie trailer, Don't Go in the Bedroom.
It was filmed in Palm Springs, CA. I got to do Special FX makeup for the first time. I also did the hairstyling. So much fun, so much blood!
Actors shown in the photos are Mischa Garver & Melanie Lastrina.

Texting is quick yet impersonal
I don't really do "small chat." & when I want to have a conversation that might take more than 5 texts on the phone that means it requires a voice call. In case you are too busy texting or scrolling around Facebook and forgot what that means, it means when two people talk on the phone, using your mobile phone and can mean your computer ie: Skype and Gchat.
So, when I call someone it is for a reason to talk and not to text a conversation. I understand everyone is busy but finding 5 mins to "hear someone else's voice" shouldn't be that complicated. Neither should be setting up a date and time to hang out. Stop being a flake. You are only making yourself look sad. If you really want to remain in contact... YOU will make time. You have plenty of time to ask for favors!
Yes, texting is quick! Very convenient, not tied to emotions or tones. It is impersonal. Everyone does it!
Phone calls are more effective. What could be an all day dragged out convo on text could be 5 mins or less on the phone. Simply because people took 30 mins or hours to reply back and forth. Losing meaning. Don't get me wrong I text but I don't want to text all day long about nothing or chase text convos. There are pros and cons for both.
LA gets weirder by the year and I am a native. Really last 5 years been going down the toilet. Must be the recession, right? ;)
Anyways bottom line. Don't expect favors if you are absent from when your friends need you the most and vice versa.
Doors can close.

Rachael <3

Emma Stone: Do & Don't Hairstyles
Do:
Red, Classy waves. Perfectly pretty.
Retro cascading waves. Sophisticated beauty.
Don't:
She looks like she is ready for Saturday morning errands with this hair. No, No, and No. DIY waves and a clip back are not cute. :)

Sponge roller set, vintage modern hairstyle
I decided to do a roller set last night after my shower. I waited until my hair was 80% dry. I then brushed it out and used my fishtail comb to section pieces for my sponge rollers. I sprayed the ends with medium hairspray hold. (I forgot to include in pic) I rolled my entire head. Sprayed with hairspray and put a silk night cap on. I pinned my bangs to the side.
I went to bed.
I woke up and took a shower with a shower cap on. I applied my makeup then took out the rollers.
I used my wire brush to brush out the curls holding the ends.
I applied light serum on the top and very carefully on ends. Sprayed with light hairspray.
Teased curls. Neatly combed the top. Control paste was then applied at crown and scrunched on ends.
Styled. Teased up ends.
Used firm hairspray all over. Sprayed ends and scrunched.
Took clip out and flat ironed bangs.
Final touches with comb and
Hairsprayed again with heavy spray.
And there you have it! Styling takes patience and practice. Don't give up!
Try it!!
